Refreshing Orange + Ginger Infused Water | Recipes

A few weeks ago we stopped for a quick lunch during an afternoon of shopping. Restaurants dedicated to healthy options are kind of hard to come by around our house. But this one did not disappoint with lots of yummy salads, appetizers and they even have these delicious infused waters. So I totally stole one of their recipes to try at home. I think they have some secret ingredient I was missing, but even though mine wasn't exactly like the real thing, it's stillsomething I'll be making from time to time. It's refreshing without being a full on glass of oj, and the chia seeds just make me feel extra healthy, ha;)

I love this for starting the week of right with a little flavor, as an option for guests at parties, or preparing in to-go bottles to stay hydrated on busy days. Mix up a batch and let me know what you think!

Ingredients:

  • juice of 3-4 oranges
  • 2 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp. chopped ginger
  • 6-8 cups of filtered water

Same as all infused waters, mix up your batch in a sealed container, let sit for a few hours or overnight, then enjoy! A tip for using the chia seeds, make sure to mix or shake your water for the first few minutes while the chia seeds are soaking up the liquid otherwise they'll clump on the bottom and stick to your bottle (and be impossible to get off!).

Add ice to a glass and pour over to serve. Garnish with a few orange slices.

Do you guys make infused water? This is one of my first times giving it a shot, I'm okay with plain water most of the time. Would love to hear your suggestions for flavors though!
