Our Process

 

Step One

Order a sample pack or send over an email. We offer sample packs for all of our semi-custom suites so that you can see them in person and feel the quality. If you’d rather get going and aren’t worried about samples, you can begin your order. For our semi-custom suites, each one has it’s own listing for each piece of a semi-custom suite including Save the Dates, Invitation & RSVP suites, details cards, custom maps and services like envelope addressing, return address printing and vintage postage curating. Each listing will include details about the design, inclusions and suggestions to customize your suite.

Semi-custom suites include a selection from our curated color collection. We have put together some palette ideas for you as well! If there is a specific color you’re interested in that is not listed in our color collection, you have the option to upgrade to a custom color palette when you order your Save the Date or Invitation suite.

Looking for a custom suite? We have a form for that here. The custom suite form will help us gather all of your information up front so that we can get a quote over to you as quickly as possible.


step two

So you’ve decided on a suite and you picked all of your suite pieces - we can’t wait to get started! Go ahead and checkout from your cart and we’ll send over an order form that collects all of your color selections and important details within 2 business days. At this point you can also request a call with Kimi to review any questions you may have. After we’ve received your completed order form we will send your contract with your expected ship date to get your signature. Design begins as soon as we receive your signed contract!


step three

Next we order all of the supplies for your project and custom lettering for your suite is started. You’ll receive your first proof approximately 2 weeks after your contract start date. With your proof, we send two response forms; one approves the suite to print and the second sends revision notes back to us.


step four

If revisions are needed, we’ll have your final proof to you 3-5 business days after we receive your revision notes and clarify any questions we have.


step five

After we receive approval on your suite we prep all of your design pieces to print and send them out! Printing takes about 5-7 days for flat printing and 10-12 days for specialty printing (foil, letterpress, etc.). If you chose to add return address printing or addressing to your order we’ll begin that process as soon as all necessary design pieces have arrived from our vendors & printers. We typically incorporate 7-10 business days for return & RSVP address printing and 2 weeks for envelope addressing to your time. This will be noted on your contract ship date.

We offer free standard shipping to all of our wedding clients so that you don’t receive any surprises at the end of our time together. What you see on your invoice is what you pay (unless of course there are any changes along the way).

FAQ

What is a semi-custom suite?

A semi-custom design is one that we have pre-designed for you. We have options ranging from suites that have fixed calligraphy (ie. no custom lettering, shorter timelines, and more cost effective options!) to suites that we hand letter all of your details for you. When you purchase a semi-custom design, this means everything stays as originally designed with the only customization being the lettering and color palette you select. This helps up keep the cost down for you, while still being able to purchase a wedding suite with hand lettered elements.


What is a custom design?

Custom designs are a way for you to collaborate with us and create a one of a kind suite for you and your partner. Our process goes a little something like this; We set up a call to chat about your inspiration, ideas, or any details you want to incorporate. Once we have an idea of the direction you are wanting to go with the suite, our next step is working with you to build a moodboard to showcase our ideas for you. With the moodboard, we also send over some concept sketches to make sure you are in love with our vision. After reviewing that together, and with your go ahead to get designing, we then start the hand lettered elements, illustrations, and sourcing special touches. Finally we assemble and build your suite that we ship to you for the final send off. (click on the “let’s chat” button above to learn more!)


What does the price on the semi-custom suites include?

Most options listed on our semi-custom page include custom hand lettering (if applicable), design, printing, plain envelopes and assembly. You can add additional items such as envelope addressing, maps and accommodation cards when filling out the form in your desired suite.


Can I change the color of the suites you have listed in your shop?

Yes, any suite can be customized to your palette.


Will I see a proof of my invitation?

Of course! We provide an initial proof and one round of revisions. We only provide a digital proof and are not able to provide hard copies at this time. However, we have sample packs that you can purchase to see different paper types, printing types and envelopes.


How does printing work?

In the Semi-Custom Suite listings, you will see pricing that includes standard CMYK Printing, letterpress or foil on either white or color paper. Please read the description as that will outline all details on how that specific suite will be printed. 

For Custom suites, we offer almost all types of printing and will prepare a custom quote after we have enough information from you about your design.


Do you hand letter every single invitation?

No, your details are lettered and illustrated several times. Once we finalize (internally) the best option for your suite, it is turned into a digital file and laid out in our design program. This way we can easily update colors, font sizes, placement, etc. Once approved, we send this to print. 

Only items including variable data like outer envelopes and place cards are hand lettered individually.


Do you offer envelope printing?

We offer return address printing as well as printing of your RSVP envelopes. We offer hand lettering options for the guest’s names and addresses.


How long does your process take?

Lead-times for suites will vary depending on the amount of hand lettering, your order quantity, the printing method and if you have added on envelope addressing. For a standard digitally printed suite, you can expect a lead-time of at least 4-5 weeks. For something more complicated, letterpress for example, lead-times range at about 8-10 weeks.


Can I rush my order?

Please email us first, in some cases rush orders can be accommodated for an additional 25%.


Are envelopes included?

Yes! All pricing in our semi-custom listings includes blank outer and reply envelopes. You can add guest addressing, return address printing and reply envelope printing for an additional cost.
