homemade pizza night // let's stay home

it's been a while since i talked about one of my favorite date ideas… staying home! so let's dive back in now that it's 2015 shall we? ryan and i usually stay home a night on the weekend and go out the other. i wouldn't call all of the nights we stay in "date nights", but sometimes i like to put a little extra thought into it and try something new. a few weeks ago i pulled out my mini cast iron skillets and we gave pizza a shot in them. here are the directions to quickly prep for your own pizza date night at home.

gather your ingredients and prepare them for assembling quickly (chop, mince, slice). we used pre-made dough, turkey pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, oyster mushrooms, onion, thyme and bell peppers.

press your down into the skillet and bake at 375 for 5-10 minutes (or according to instructions on your package). the dough cooks much slower, so get it about halfway done before you add your toppings.

top and continue baking for another 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted and other ingredients are starting to get crisp.

set a cozy table and enjoy!

what is your favorite way to create a simple date night at home?
