POSITION // graphic designer (entry level)

We are looking for someone to join our team that will focus on graphic design for our newsletters, the Creative Library, the Magazine, blog posts, instagram, and stationery needs. You must be located near Orange County, be available to be in the office 3 days a week (ideally mon/wed/fri), have reliable transportation, and a personal computer for any days you might need to work from home instead of the office.

Position start date is late November / early December. You must be available at this time for training.

Hours + rate:

Starting around 15-20 hours per week. Opportunity for increased hours.

Hourly rate will be disclosed via email when scheduling interviews. You will be eligible for commission on specific projects.

Who is this job for?

Someone who is self-motivated, creative, understands the AFF aesthetic and has a similar style, will be confident in making decisions for our business, is interested in contributing ideas and feedback that help AFF, wants to grow with our company long term, and most importantly loves wine and dogs. You must be organized, efficient and strict with deadlines. This person must also be okay with doing the small tasks as well... we all clean, pack, ship, organize, wash dishes, water plants, run errands and keep AFF running together. No task is too small for anyone in our office. You will need to be okay with helping with any task if your teammate needs it.

Graphic design responsibilities:

  • Designing our seasonal magazine

  • Designing templates for our Creative Library

  • Basic layout of semi-custom invitation projects

  • Creating graphics for blog posts

  • Designing for and maintaining our free download libraries

  • Creating promotional graphics for instagram stories

  • Preparing and exporting files for print

Newsletter responsibilities:

  • Designing and maintaining a template for our bi-weekly emails

  • Continually updating and keeping your templates fresh on a monthly/seasonal basis

  • Building out newsletters in Mailchimp

  • Managing newsletter distribution

  • Contribute copy or subject line solutions

Other tasks may include:

  • Occasional travel for photoshoots

  • Photoshoot assistance

  • Contributing ideas in our monthly meetings

  • Uploading photos for blog posts

  • DIY-ing for shoots

  • Sourcing products for blog round ups (ie. know your way around the internet)

  • Putting the rosé in the fridge Friday morning to ensure it’s cold for happy hour

*Part of the job will include gaining knowledge on all of the above and is factored into the pay for this position
