Rust + Rose | | Creative Tabletop Ideas

You know I will get behind any holiday or theme that has an overly pink palette. It’s my favorite (an ours as a brand) and this year i’ve made it my goal to step outside of the box and create some new and interesting new combos for you all to be inspired by. Terra cotta is having a major moment right now, and I knew immediately that it would be the perfect partner for this tabletop. We wanted to share a fun take on the pink valentines day palette while still keeping it useable year round.

Where it all started

I came across this set of plates before we started dreaming up the table decor. And everything pretty much stemmed from there. Flowers were chosen to compliment the terra cotta + light pink. Taper candles were chosen to bring in the orange tones. And we used a pop of gold to bring a touch of glam to this table setting.

Flower Inspiration

I love to mix dried and fresh flowers, I feel like it gives the arrangement a nice mix of color and texture that you wouldn’t get from an all fresh arrangement. I was so excited to find so many gorgeous earth tone and neutral flowers to really pull the vision of this tabletop together. I filmed an IGTV showing the assembly of this flower arrangement, which I will be sharing soon!

Place Cards

The place cards were really the star of the show doubling as a pretty keepsake for guests. I’m a sucker for anything acrylic and i do regular searches on amazon for interesting clear acrylic pieces. The boxes popped up one day and I immediately ordered knowing they’d make the perfect floral focused place card.

I hand lettered each guests name and cut it in vinyl to apply to the top of the boxes (you can watch the whole process here on our IGTV). Then we filled each box with trimmed baby’s breath. We wanted to the flowers to contrast the plates and not match perfectly with the arrangement it was sitting next to. You can easily recreate these with a paint pen and some fresh or dried flowers.
