agua de frutas vodka soda // cocktail

i gave up on vodka cocktails for a while. like 4 years. we weren't getting along

and i met wine, which is great. but wine, on a beach, in the heat, no ice

it's just not the greatest thing to sip on in the hotness and humidity during vacation. i needed something refreshing. so i decided to give vodka a second chance on our

vacay to mexico

and found my new favorite cocktail, for this month;)

it's basically a vodka soda topped with fresh fruit water (aka agua de frutas). it made me feel semi healthy while drinking. like i was getting in some nutrients while hydrating! ha.

so you'll need // club soda, vodka, lime and fruit to make your water, i used watermelon, peaches and pineapple.

i used our juicer with the fresh fruit and made a bottle of each (these are also going to be great in smoothies this week!).

once you have made your fruit juices, mix an equal amount of each in a blender and add in an equal amount of water (so one part fruit juice mix to one part water). quickly blend and put in a separate container.

fill a glass with ice and add vodka.

top with club soda.

squeeze in one quarter of a lime.

top with your agua de frutas and gently stir.

mix up the fruit combos to use your favorites or what is seasonal. it's also a great mix to have on hand to just drink on it's own for a brunch or lunch!

i am always coming home with new cocktail inspiration after vacations

what favorites have you guys brought home from different states or countries?
